Nestlé Recalls Prescription Dog Food Purina Pro-Plan Veterinary Diets EL Elementary

Following the recall of veterinary prescription dog food Purina Pro Plan EL Elemental by Nestlé Pet Foods in February due to excessive levels of vitamin D, this prescription dog food was recalled again in March this year due to excessive levels of vitamin D.

Side effects of vitamin D toxicity include weight loss, vomiting, loss of appetite, increased thirst, increased urination, excessive drooling, and kidney dysfunction.

In the report, the FDA asked pet owners who purchased the product to immediately stop feeding the dog food and throw it away in a container that is out of reach of other animals, including wild and stray animals. If your dog has eaten this dog food and develops the above symptoms, you should stop eating this dog food and make an appointment with a veterinarian for a physical examination.

Dry food often has different artificial vitamins and even flavor enhancers added to it. In addition, natural foods that are advertised as natural may not be as natural as you think. AAFCO allows the addition of chemically synthesized vitamins and minerals to be called "natural food", so it only needs to be printed with "Natural with added vitamins, minerals and trace nutrients" on the packaging bag. To put it bluntly, as long as natural flavoring is used in pet food, even if chemical flavoring is used, it can also be called "natural food". Click here to learn more https://cnn.it/3sCzmnG
