Does your pet's stomach becomes more sensitive during sudden drop in temperature?

The northeast monsoon is back, and this morning, some areas even dropped to 15°C! Whenever the temperature changes, many dogs get upset stomachs. Seeing a vet costs money, and we're worried that our furry friends will feel worse. If you haven't been able to book an appointment with a vet, what can you do at home?

Veterinarian Dr. Ward teaches pet owners to try the following methods to handle stomach issues:

1. First, fast the dog for at least 12 consecutive hours, but remember to give it water to drink.

2. After fasting for 12 hours, the diarrhea should improve. If there is no vomiting, lethargy, or other changes, you can give a small amount of bland food a few hours later to help your pet feel less hungry.

If there is no vomiting or diarrhea, TailorMeat suggests giving an amount of white rice (cooled) equivalent to half of the usual portion, along with a small amount of boiled water, to prevent the pet from feeling too hungry.

Veterinarian Dr. Ward: "Many cases of diarrhea can be successfully managed at home through careful observation and patience."

Apart from severe illnesses that cause diarrhea, the following should not be ignored:

1. Change of diet
2. Weather changes, anxiety
3. Guests at home, dog hotels, travel

Usually, going to the vet can be very expensive, as they will check many things, such as stool tests, urine tests, blood tests, and may even do X-rays or ultrasounds.

You usually save up a bit, and then when the time comes, you end up spending it all at once. By the time your pet gets better, your wallet is empty. Instead of that, it's actually better to feed your pet well and healthily on a regular basis!
